I really enjoyed the original Doom Patrol stories. They are works of art. Bruno Premiani is a very talented artist, especially since he had severly impaired vision and Arnold's story-telling abilities put most writers of today to shame. he really coaxes me into loving these characters...and we're still at the very beginning of the series.

I would LOVE to see a complete Archiving of the Doom Patrol saga. They were probably the most unusual feature DC ran for the entire decade of the 60's, a group of outcasts who defended the human race that had rejected them. And, they did it without the never-ending self-pity of contemporary Marvel characters such as their close copy, the X-Men. I had the two 70's reprint issues, the Showcase revival issues, and the Blue Ribbon Digest in my initial comic-collecting phase, and I loved them. I was out of the comics field for many years until recently, so I completely missed the Morrison years, but I came back on board for the latest revival, and it rekindled my interest in the original team. Having purchased the first Archive edition, I now feel like I have to have ALL of their Silver Age tales. So, yeah, include me on that list.

Come on, DC, let's have the second edition of "Doom Patrol" archived and delivered to the fans. You have a chance to build the audience you should have when this revival first appeared, but did not. I only hope that you know what to do with the demand you will be faced with when this comes out.

I'm reasonably sure that we'll get it in '04. But it's the sales of vol.1 that will make the decision (or has already made it); so if you really want to improve DP's chances for another volume, go out and buy a duplicate. That will have more effect than anything you can possibly say.

I want the whole Silver Age DP run between hard covers, myself--it was the only DC title I kept buying constantly through the mid-'60s when most of my interest had wandered over to Marvel.

I'm looking forward to volume 2. I read very little DP until volume 1 came out. The comic was pretty much over when I started collecting as a youngster (1972), and I never see any back issues aroung town! Volume 1 was great, and I'd love to see the rest!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the successor to Bill Gates --James Friel.

The only way to get DP 2 is to pay 50 more smackers (that's dollars for you literate posters) for DP 1?? How will I afford DP 2 if it DOES come out?!?!?!?!?

Agghh.

(that's a Charlie Brown-ism for "Egad!")

What I meant, of course, is that it's going to be decided on almost purely economic grounds.
For the record, I think DP 2 is coming, and that it'll very likely be here in '04, but that since (I think, based on sales of volume 1) that decision is probably already made, there's probably not much point in agitating for it unless we don't hear something by the end of this year.

Would the Challengers cross over be included in Doom Patrol Archives (when ever it reaches that point) or will we need to get that in Challenger Archives?

There has been some debate over it....I'm in the camp that thinks it may not be included, but I could be wrong since we don't have the Archive in question yet.

I think it'll be included--I just don't see them letting a story go half-told.
